A muddy day with light rain, but lots of bird sightings: downy woodpecker, cowbird, brown thrasher, plus many robins and cardinals. Barred owls were heard but not seen. High, muddy water prevented a search for migratory herring.
One tire was removed from along the Boulder Bridge-Carter Barron trail along Colorado Avenue and dropped off at Picnic Area 12. Tea (winter 2018 “One Drop of Dew” tieguanyin) was made at the covered picnic shelter near the nature center.
