Sparring Scrimmage: Free & Fun
In lieu of hosting a tournament and incurring the associated costs (both for you and for us!), we prefer to host scrimmages with other local and collegiate taekwondo clubs. The training format includes both group practice and plenty of matches using current competition rules. In the span of two to three hours, everyone participates in a warm-up, partner drills, and spars 3, 4, or 5 times with a variety of different people of different ranks and skills.
No fee, all ranks welcome. Students from other schools are welcome to participate provided that we are notified in advance of your participation by sending e-mail to
. If you are a member of a another club, sign up on our Guest List to receive advance notice of upcoming scrimmages at http://www.dctkd.org/about/signUp.cfm.
Also, check out the slideshows of previous scrimmages with the University of Delaware, Gentle East YMCA, Virginia Tech, the University of Maryland, the University of Michigan, and other local schools and clubs. Our Michigan friends drove 12 hours to participate in a spirited scrimmage in preparation for the Collegiate National Championships:
