Assistant Instructors

Mr. Drew Cahoon, 3rd dan

Drew is the lead instructor for RVATKD (www.rvatkd.org) in Richmond, VA. He began studying Taekwondo with the Boston University Collegiate Club in 1996 and resumed again in March of 2002 at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, MD with Mr. Jim Nix. Shortly thereafter, he started making the trip to DC on a regular basis to supplement his training with the GWU taekwondo club. He has participated in various scrimmages, the 2003 GW Open tournament, and multiple Korean Martial Arts Summer Camps. Mr. Cahoon has been instructing since 2004 and has established a variety of training opportunities in Baltimore, DC and Richmond. Drew is currently a Senior Consultant with Jacobson Consulting Applications, Inc.

Ms. Colleen Naseem, 2nd dan

Colleen Naseem began practicing taekwondo in a small dojang in Chicago. In 2005, she moved to DC to go to The George Washington University Law School, and was excited to be able to take her training to the next level practicing with the GW taekwondo club. As a blue belt, she won gold medals in both poomse and sparring at the National Collegiate Taekwondo Association Tournament. Colleen graduated from GW Law in May 2008, and celebrated by taking both her first dan exam and the Virginia bar exam the following summer — a week apart! She is now a 2nd dan and a practicing lawyer, working for the Social Security Administration.
